Environmental monitoring and the transmission of zoonoses

The relationship between diversity of non-human primates and the occurrence of disease outbreaks

Goals

Identify the relationships between the habitat, the diversity of non-human primates and the transmission of Yellow Fever to humans in different Brazilian biomes

Diagnosis of possible new zoonotic epidemics and pandemics in tropical environments

Expected results

Identify ecological relationships

Between deaths caused by yellow fever and the dynamics of primate populations and communities in different biomes

New approach

Include epidemiological discussions on the importance of conserving high levels of biodiversity in Brazilian biomes
