The Biodiversity Knowledge Center was born from the commitment to make Science an instrument for sustainable development. 


Uniting research centers dedicated to 

6 Brazilian biomes, the Center brings together the most modern research on sustainability and ecology to present to Brazil and the world.


The highest quality scientific production becomes a strategy to guide companies, public managers and initiatives in environmental solutions.

Level 1A CNPq Researcher, full professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. PhD in Evolutionary Ecology from Northern Arizona University (1992), with postdoc from Stanford University (2016). 
Full member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. Coordinates the Pantanal Research Network (MCTI) and the Biodiversity Research Program (PPBio).

Level 1D CNPq Researcher, full professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro. PhD in Ecology from the State University of Campinas. Coordinates the Atlantic Forest Biodiversity Research Network (MCTI) and the Center for Environmental Studies and Sustainable Development (UERJ). Member of the State Environmental Control Commission.
